Get Designer Home Deco For Less Dough
By
Relationship Advice Expert April MasiniQ: Dear April Masini,
I would like to redecorate my apartment, but I don't have a ton of money to pour into it. I don't want the place to look cheap or tacky or college dorm-like. Is it possible to find classy, adult interior design stuff without blowing my bank account?
Sincerely,
Budget Designer
A:
Dear Budget Designer,
Stores like Target, Kohl’s, etc., are popping up every day and are making it possible for people to get fabulous, designer items and well-thought-out designs for their homes and closets without spending an arm and a leg.
In fact, the home itself has changed. Now, more houses have kitchens that open into family rooms so that the family living spaces are more featured than ever before. Martha Stewart and other living room entrepreneurs became multi-millionaires because they were onto something new, and the Food Network took off like never before making Rachel Ray, Bobby Flay and Emeril Lagasse household names and consumer brands. Entertaining, cooking and staying at home are now the trend.
It would be impossible to imagine that someone wouldn’t want to capitalize on this home trend — and that’s what we’re all seeing when knock offs of designer furniture, wallpaper and hardware can be found for a fraction of the cost at lower price point stores like
Target and
Wal-Mart.
