Q: Dear April Masini,

As Halloween approaches, I, as a grown woman, feel the pressure to dress up in a sexy outfit for the annual party my friend's throw. I don't feel like I am someone prone to peer pressure, but in the last few years, it's not the clever costumes that win the "Best Costume" honors, it's the sexy ones. I want to have fun, but is this trend wrong for a grown woman to take part of? And more so, is it wrong for teenagers to take part in?

A:

Dear Costume Questioner,

There is nothing wrong with a grown woman feeling sexy, but having to depend on a holiday party to feel sexy is wrong. And furthermore, it is wrong for young girls to participate in this sexist trend.

Racy Halloween costumes for women are DEFINITELY a backlash against Feminism. So many Feminists have given women terrible advice about how to be a woman and how to treat men and how to be in relationships with men. The whole idea of equality is ridiculous because women and men are different. But so many women have forgotten how to use their female powers, that they rely on racy Halloween costumes to give themselves permission to "act" feminine. Granted the racy costumes take it a little further than most women would be in everyday life, but the point is that women have gone so far gone, as a result of Feminist rhetoric, that they're looking to racy costumes to find their way back to being women.

As for the racy costumes for women that are worn by 11-, 12- and 13-year-old girls, that's all thanks to what I call Pedophile-Chic ... and beyond inappropriate.
