Erika B. Webb
I am Erika B. Webb, 43 years old, still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up or if I’ll ever grow up. I work as an advertising sales representative for a shopper called The West Volusia Pennysaver in DeLand, Florida. I do this because I thought it would be a brilliant idea to drop out of the University of Florida’s College of Journalism at 20 years old (when no one should be making decisions) to get married and have a child. You’ll see more on why this was a bad idea in the blogs.
I am also a realtor but real estate taught me that I may, in fact, be a sociopath so I decided to get out of that.
I grew up on Key Biscayne, a small island off the coast of Miami and moved to small town central, rural DeLand when I was 15. I’ve been here ever since, kind of like purgatory. Just kidding. It is a nice town, growing every day but some people do get stuck here, never to venture farther. More on them in the blogs too.
I have a husband, a son, 4 dogs, and a cat. I love to read, write, decorate, shop, fish, and snorkel. Now that I’m in AA, my chief addiction is HGTV. I hope they never find 12 steps for that one. I look forward to sharing with and venting to the readers of Ask April. I hope that something I say helps you, validates your feelings, or makes you laugh. Because I’ve been blessed by the insight and humor of others and I believe it’s all about giving back.
