Behavior: Is It OK for Mother and Daughter to Dress Alike?

It’s fine for mother and daughter to dress alike — up to a certain age and with a certain frequency.
The boundaries are:
* Not every day. Mothers and daughters should not dress alike every single day.
* After age 11 or 12 it’s not okay any more. Teenagers need to separate and form their own identities in order to go out into the world with some health. If they’re still dressing like mom — or mom is still dressing like them, this process may be impeded, and their health may be compromised.
* It’s great to celebrate the bond of mother and daughter by dressing alike, but daughters should not be made to look or dress too provocatively. No make up for little girls or young teens, to match mom. No high heels for little girls or young teens. And no sexualizing a child.
