How Has School Discipline Changed Over the Years?

School discipline has changed in several regards:
* Parents abdicate responsibility for disciplining their own children, and leave the schools with the burden of undisciplined children who need to be taught. As if teachers don’t have enough on their plates?
* Schools are chicken in many cases to enforce disciplinary measures on children of parents who make large donations to PTA and other funds for fear of the parents not contributing to the much needed school coffers. Private schools have the same problem tenfold.
* Schools are not supported by parents on no-tolerance measures and measures leading up to them, and they often cave in implementing them. Leaders are few and far between. School principals and administrators often become facilitators and people who strive to keep chaos at bay rather than to do what’s right for the student body.
