The Benefit Of A “Me-Time” Makeover

Why do so many women take care of everyone except themselves?
It’s been well known that women are more caretakers and nurturers than men are, but now a gene has actually been identified as a care-taking gene, and the clarity of those who care take at the expense of their own self, is getting more exposure.
Women are not taught to take care of themselves as much as they are to take care of others, and to be thought of as self-sacrificing. Taking all moral judgment out of this, it doesn’t serve anyone if women don’t take care of themselves first. When a plane goes down, parents are instructed to put their own oxygen masks on first before they help their children. The reason for this is that if the parents are alive and taken care of, they can take care of their children. Not so, the other way around. The same principle goes for less dramatic situations.
If a woman has enough — or more than enough — sleep, she’ll have better energy during the day to take care of everyone else, and to enjoy her own life in the process.
If a woman has enough and appropriate clothes in her closet — she won’t waste time being anxious or rushing round trying to buy what she needs at the last minute.
If a woman has regular grooming appointments, she’ll be more relaxed and confident about everything that comes her way during the day.
If a woman has her sexual and social needs taken care of she’s going to be much happier and more confident rather than grousing around or complaining, and this will make her more productive, which enhances her sense of her self, which is not only great for her, but for everyone around her, as well.
