Style Tips: Men Hate Capri Pants

Face it. Capri pants are not sexy, and men love to see women looking sexy. Bottom line, end of story.Capri pants are not terribly flattering. They’re more a fashion statement than an enhancement of a woman’s body. They don’t create a long line, so anyone who’s not very thin doesn’t really look that great in them. They’re not really made for women who have ample rears, thighs or tummies, so again, you have to be pretty thin and boyish from the waist down to make these work. If you have athletic calves, forget it. And if you wear heals with your capri pants you tend to look a little low rent and “mall” rather than sophisticated and elegant. What men do love to see women in is anything that flatters the woman and her body. Men love visual effects — hence the success of men’s magazines and porn! They like to look. And a beautiful dress enhances a woman’s body far more than any pair of capri pants. A beautiful skirt that is well fitted and well worn, again, shows off a woman’s body far more beneficially than any pair of capri pants. And even trousers or jeans create a long-legged look — whether or not a woman has long legs — in a way that capri pants don’t. Shorts are more flattering than capri pants because they also give the illusion of a longer leg than capri pants that “chop” the leg look in an unflattering line.If women are committed to capri pants, and they care what men think of their look, at least make sure the pants fit well and are not too snug, and that the top that they are wearing is also well fitted and appropriate.
