Need a fast, easy, no-sewing-required repairs for common clothing conundrums (i.e., torn seams, droopy hems, holes, short pant legs, too tight waistbands, etc.)? If so, this one’s for you….
Tape, chalk and safety pins should be the mantra of any woman who cares about how she looks. No matter how wonderful your tailor, how fabulous your wardrobe and how adept you are at handling red wine and a canape at a cocktail party, the truth is that rips happen.
* Tape
When you don’t have time to sew something or have the tailor do it, use tape. Don’t rely on it for normal repairs but for emergencies, some scotch tape will do the trick.
* Safety pins
If your zipper busts, your button pops or your clothing rips at an inopportune time and place, having a handful of safety pins in different sizes in your makeup bag and/or glove compartment of your car can save the day.
* White chalk
White clothing is great in summer linens and great in winter whites, but spills, splatters and accidents happen. Some white chalk will get rid of the spot in the short term so you can enjoy the rest of your day or event without incident.
