* Green is thought to be the color chosen for U.S. currency because it represents strength and stability.

*Research conducted at Washington State University and published in the journal Horttechology (yes, this is the correct spelling) suggests that people in rooms with a lot of greenery can tolerate more physical pain that those in surroundings without any plants.

* In Celtic myths green was associated with fertility.

* In the 15th century, the color green was the best choice for a bride’s gown because of its earliest symbolism.

* Of note is the continued symbolism attached to the color green in the latter part of this century. Urban mythology says that anyone who chooses a green M&M is sending a somewhat similar message. Green has been reinterpreted by late 20th century American culture to signify a state of heightened sexuality in this specific situation.

* Ancient Egyptians felt that green was a sacred color representing the hope and joy of spring.

* Green is a sacred color to Moslems.

* Suicides dropped 34% when London’s Black Friar Bridge was painted green.

* Currently the most popular decorating color, green symbolizes nature.

* It is a calming, refreshing color. People waiting to appear on TV sit in “green rooms” to relax

* Dark green is masculine, conservative, and implies wealth.
