Yes, you can have tons of fun — exercise doesn’t simply have to be a treadmill at the gym.

April Masini’s Top 10 Ways To Have Fun Burning Calories

1. Go clubbing or dancing, and just drink water the whole night. You’ll have fun, flirt and lose weight. I promise.

2. Skiing is great, but cross country skiing is even more of a calorie burner.

3. Ice skating is a great winter way to burn calories.

4. Walk! Don’t take the elevator in the mall. Do your shopping by taking the stairs, not the escalators or elevators.

5. Valet who? Don’t valet park. Park your car as far away from the store as you can, and walk to and from the store — or lunch.

6. Make an exercise date — with a romantic interest, partner or a bunch of friends. Instead of meeting for lunch, a movie or some other sedentary activity, make a date to take an exercise class or go running.

7. Lose the doggie door. Don’t let your dog out in the yard to do his business. Take him on a hike so you can both get some exercise.

8. Have an invalid relative? Take them for a wheelchair walk. You walk, they ride. You’ll do a nice thing for them and yourself.

9. Forget public transportation. Walk to a bus stop that’s further than the one you usually frequent, or don’t take the bus altogether. Just walk.

10. Drop and give yourself ten. Instead of a water break or a coffee break. Drop and do a set of crunches, push ups or some other exercise that you like. Leg lifts work. Then go back to what you were doing. You’ll get your break, clear your head, and burn some calories.
