Entertainment: Showbiz vs. College

Is higher education unnecessary, or perhaps discouraged by career planners who wish young celebrities to make the most money they can?
Yes!!
Higher education advances a person intellectually. It also advances them on certain career tracks. But having a formal education doesn’t mean a person is intelligent, talented or even smart. It just means that they’ve been educated by a certain institution.
“Career planners” can only plan what they know, and if a young person says, I want to be a movie star, or I want to be a professional athlete, then the best plan is to advance that career. If a person says I want to be a doctor, then a straight academic career is best. And….if a person says, I want to be an actor, but I want a fall back position for when the acting career is burned out or doesn’t happen, then the career counselor would be wise to advise the young person to go to college and promote their acting career.
There are lots of ways to live life. Showbiz is about entertaining and/or making money. College is about educating yourself. They can be mutually exclusive, but they don’t have to be.
