Today: What A Handshake Says

Handshakes are a way of greeting people, and “cool” handshakes are always evolving from the soul handshake of the 70s, to the opposite shoulder bump that accompanies today’s cool guy handshake. When you meet someone, your first impression is lasting, and if you give someone a “cool” handshake, you’re letting them know about you before you even speak. Just like the clothes you wear, the hairstyle you sport and the car you drive, your “cool” handshake telegraphs the message that you’re hip, you’re urbane, and you keep up with what’s what. A traditional handshake shows a different kind of respect and greeting that is conservative. And no handshake or a handshake that is turned down, shows venom and a disinterest in communicating with the person offering the handshake.
