Why Do People At Live Events Call & Text?

Technology is here to stay, and that means everyone is as close as a couple of clicks on a keypad away. So, when sports fans get excited — or devastated — by a play, they don’t have to be alone with their feelings. They can share them with whomever they want — whether that person is at the game with them, or somewhere else, watching the game on a different technological venue.

People have intense feelings, and these feelings are often too intense for them to acclimate by themselves. Sharing these feelings helps the person accept and ease into them. Calling a friend or family member to do this, is not so unusual. Even from the game.

Calling or texting from the game is merely a way of expressing intimacy — long distance!
