Horror Movies Are A Classic Genre That Is Here To Stay.

Why? Because horror movies tap into an emotion that many people like to experience — not so much fear, but conquering fear. Being scared is horrifying, but the rush that comes immediately after it is the conquering of that fear. It’s the luxurious breath you take when you know you’re okay — and that character you were empathizing with on screen is not going to get massacred by the chain saw or bitten by the vampire.

Stars of movies are people that we identify with. Their ability to express and convey emotions allows us to recognize that feeling on the screen, within ourselves. We can then “hook into” the adventure they are going through and get scared — and then be okay. When movies are boring it is because, in many cases, we don’t empathize with the star and we can’t feel the emotions that the story requires in order to allow us the rush we get on releasing or conquering them.
