When It Comes To Elections … Do Looks Matter?

Are you kidding me? Or COURSE looks matter. ESPECIALLY with politicians.

Voters look for the following in their leaders:

* Virility.
* Strength (Can you say governator?)
* Hair - Voters equate hair with strength.
* Good suits - Voters want their leaders to wear suits — not casual clothing. Power ties in commanding colors like red and navy do a lot better with voters than pastel colored ties or “fashion” colors like eggplant or sage.
* Predictability - Politicians better not pull a Madonna changing looks every month, whether it’s hair, clothes or jewelry. It won’t work with elections. Voters want consistency and predictability.
* No cleavage or leg for women. Voters don’t want sexy women for leaders. They want women in dress suits (not pants) who look like Barbara Boxer. They don’t want skinny women either. They like their women politicians matronly looking. Who can’t trust mom?
