The Negatives of Imposing A Draft Are Pretty Clear, But There Are Some Positives That Are Less Obvious

Nobody wants to fight a war or kill people, but there are times when the nation’s security is threatened and military action is the appropriate response. Ask any mother about her lioness instinct when it comes to her children — she will do anything — even kill — if her children are threatened. This same dynamic is important to protect our global family.

Finding men and women to be our nation’s military requires a draft at times because not enough citizens feel that enlisting is important to them. As long as our nation wants a military presence, and enlistment does not serve the military enough, there is going to have to be either an active draft or the possibility of a draft.

The negatives of being drafted are pretty clear, but the positives of a draft are less so:

* There is a Gen X and Y in our country that lacks responsibility and drive. What better way for them to learn to be part of a team than to spend two years serving in the military?

* Showing devotion to the country and sacrifice for the nation is a great way to get the American family demise (divorce, serial marriage, children of divorce) back on track. The draft is a way to implement this dynamic.

* Our world is becoming more global. When all our families are aware of all of our countries and our place in the world, there is a better chance of perspective at home, and peace in our families and our world. The draft brings this tenet into every household in America.
