Wired Communications — Spanning The Generations

The best way for generations to communicate is to build bridges. Teens who multi task, thanks to technology, are no different than teens a generation ago. The difference is the technology. But technology is not for teens only. Parents and grandparents would be wise to become computer literate and open up their own worlds.
Not only is becoming part of the present technology culture good for keeping up with people from younger generations — through phone, text messaging, sharing photos, video and live camera on computer, as well as giving both generations something to talk about in common — but it helps seniors. Seniors can bank, shop and even date online. Being computer literate will open up a world for seniors that a generation ago used to be lonely and dependent. With computer and tech literacy, seniors can be independent and companionable.
