Suddenly Single Me.

What’s it like to suddenly be single after having been in relationships for 6 years straight? Fabulous. Sure, you might think I’m just saying that, but I’m not. While there’s nothing better than being in a strong, healthy relationship, right now I know that the best thing for me is to be on my own schedule, to work on furthering my career, and to learn to love being with myself. And I have no doubt that the things I’m learning as a single girl are going to make my future relationships so much better.

After any great feat or any large loss, re-grouping is important. Taking the time to reflect, get to know yourself, and make your own future plans and goals. This is my re-grouping time. I’ll talk more about this throughout this blog, along with how you can actually enjoy being alone and how it can make your future relationships healthier.

Here’s a little bit you should know about me so you can understand my blog better:

I will refer to my exes as ex #1, who I dated from my freshman year of college until the end of junior year. And ex #2, who I dated on and off from the start of my senior year in college until last year, 2 years out of college. There have been several dates, etc. in between and I will refer to them by their first initials (or however I see fit).

I have a fabulous group of girlfriends, most of whom I’ve been close to since second grade. We all live pretty close to one another in the Boston area.

I’m really close to my family; my parents live fairly close to me and I enjoy visiting them for dinners, relaxing, and laundry. In two weeks, my newly engaged big sister and her fiancee are moving to Boston for a brief period.

My main interests, besides spending time with friends and family, include writing, music (any and all), cooking (and eating), shopping (and fashion), technology (learning about it and being sad I can’t afford it), and exploring Boston.
