Relationship Advice Expert April Masini
Advice Seeker: Dear April Masini,
My husband and I have been looking for fun family activities for a Friday nights and date nights, and we're running out of ideas. We've seen all the age-appropriate movies and been out for pizza one too many times. Do you have any advice for some family fun that will prove to be a good time for kids and adults alike?
Sincerely,
Friday Night Fun
Dear Friday Night Fun,
Though you may not have hear about it in a while, bowling has not gone anywhere! Bowling is still popular for families and adults and it's actually enjoying a renaissance among 20-somethings, teens, and tweens. The reason that bowling is coming back into vogue is that dating is bigger than ever -- and while dating has changed and the face of families has changed, bowling remains one of the best dates anyone can have.
There is more divorce now than ever, but there is also more second, third, and fourth marriage. There are more couples living together who are not married and there are more single parents who date -- and that sometimes means bringing the kids along. Dinner and a movie only goes so far. Once, twice, three times -- and you need something else to do.
Bowling provides an excellent way to have fun and get to know someone. Bowling is also something that kids, tweens, teens, genX, genY, boomers, and seniors ALL enjoy and can do. It's G-rated and it's reasonably priced.
Why sit still any longer? Get out there and get a lane!
