Advice Seeker: Dear April,
I always like to make sure I'm using the hottest trends in scents and perfumes so tell me, do you have any tips on upcoming trends in fragrances?
Sincerely,
Smelling Cool
Dear Smelling Cool,
One of the big trends for fall, winter and into 2009 is green. Not the color, so much, although that's pretty popular, too, but the green lifestyle. And with the green lifestyle is a penchant for the newest fragrances that come from green things. Arugula scented candles and dusting powder, sage scents, and celery as a scent and a color.
Naturally, these scents will be enhanced so that they don't exactly smell like the produce section of your supermarket. But they will take on the new trendy scents of spas, high-end beauty boutiques, which in turn, will take on a green section just as there has always been a sensitive skin section. Products that either are green or are symbolically green, like arugula scented products or sage scented soaps.
